Production of the MacGregor 65 began in 1984 and 1989 with a nonpilothouse
racing verson. In 1989 production switched over to the popular pilothouse
verson designed for cruising. Production ended in 1995 after over 100
were made. Even though these boats were very popular and the factory
was still receiving orders, MacGregor stopped production simply because
they found they could make more money on their 26 foot boats.
We specialize in selling MacGregor 65's. Heritage Yacht Sales founder,
Don Ross, has logged over 35,000 miles as a delivery captain for the
MacGregor factory, delivering these yachts all over the world. He has
contacts with many of the owners. Using these contacts, and our ties
with the MacGregor factory which is just two miles away, we stay up
to date on all the Mac 65s that are for sale throughout the world.
The following pages describe this great yacht in detail. The information
and photos are from MacGregor's sales brochure published in 1995, the
last year these yachts were manufactured. We also have 40 minute video
tapes from 1995 showing MacGregor 65s under sail and under construction
at the factory. Contact
us and we'll send you a tape upon receipt of $20.
